Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery Trust is an independent charitable trust, and was formed in 2012 by Ealing Council to oversee the conservation project alongside the Council, and run Pitzhanger following its reopening to the public.

Pitzhanger’s Trustees have expertise in heritage, architecture, strategic planning, fundraising, communications and business:

Howell James CBE, Chair
Howell has had a long career working in senior positions at the BBC, No. 10, the Cabinet Office, Barclays and Christie’s. Howell was appointed a CBE for political services in 1997. He has extensive non-executive experience in cultural organisations including as a Trustee of the British Council and a Board Member of Chichester Festival Theatre. He has also previously served as Chair of the Arts Foundation and as Chair of the Hanover Band. He is currently Chair of Radiocentre, the industry body representing and marketing the commercial radio industry. 

Mike Fisher
Mike is the Creative Director and founder of Studio Indigo, a high-end architecture and interior design studio based in London.  His work encompasses residential refurbishments and new builds, hotels, restaurants, galleries and boats.  He is passionate about Sir John Soane whose influences are very apparent in his work.

Somil Goyal
Somil was born and educated in India, and has lived & worked in six countries in Asia & Europe. His professional focus is business & economic growth through creative use of digital technologies. Somil has built and led high performance teams in the financial sector that constructively challenge the current state. Somil is a member of several visual arts organisations including the Institute of International Visual Arts. He has a personal passion for arts, especially for its ability to bring people from diverse backgrounds together. Somil is a Mechanical Engineer with a Post Graduate Diploma in Management.

Jennie Gubbins
Jennie is a solicitor and until March 2023 was a partner in Trowers & Hamlins LLP and was senior partner from 2013-2021. She has particular interest in both charities and the arts and has been inspired by Sir John Soane following numerous visits to the Museum in Lincoln’s Inn. She is the vice chair of the Saudi British Joint Business Council and a parish counsellor. She was previously a director of the Polka Children’s Theatre in Wimbledon and also of the NHS Blood Service/NHS Blood and Transplant.

Gareth Shaw
Gareth is a Labour Councillor for Walpole ward in Ealing, where Pitzhanger Manor and Gallery is located, and the Chief Whip of the controlling Labour Group of Ealing Council. He has a PhD in Early Modern History and has a passion for local historical research and teaching.

Jane Singer
Jane is Head of Europe, Business Development at Lansdowne Partners. Prior to this, Jane spent six years at The Blackstone Group working with European family offices. She also spent two years at the Guggenheim Museum, New York in the Corporate Sponsorship team. Jane began her career in investor relations at Actis Capital. Jane holds an MA in Art History from the University of St. Andrews and completed the GDL and LPC at BPP Law School. Jane serves on the 100 Women in Finance London Education Committee and also the Marie Curie Carols in the City Committee. She is also a GAIN Mentor.

Caroline Worthington
Caroline has worked with artists throughout her career as a curator. She brings a wealth of experience gained while leading two independent, non-profit organisations. As Chief Executive of Bexley Heritage Trust for six years, she ran two historic houses and introduced a contemporary art programme, featuring the work of artists including Gavin Turk, Laura Ford, and Joana Vasconcelos among others. Prior to that she was the Director of the Florence Nightingale Museum on London’s South Bank, where she raised funds and oversaw a complete redesign and re-launch in 2010. Caroline was appointed Director of the Royal Society of Sculptors in 2017 and became Vice Chair of the Association of Independent Museums (AIM) in 2020.
