TRAILS AND ACTIVITES

Our resources are designed with accessibility, ease and fun at the forefront to provide an enjoyable day out, and encourage children to engage with Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery. We offer a multitude of different trails meaning there’s something new to see with each visit! Whether you want a trail or activity focused on the architectural elements of the manor, the artwork on display in the gallery, or the history of the manor and the surrounding area, including the life of Sir John Soane, we’ve got one for you!

We warmly welcome SEND visits to the Manor & Gallery and can adapt any elements as required.

Little Spotter’s House Hunt

The Little Spotter’s House Hunt is an activity sheet aimed at developing children’s visual and observational abilities. Journey inside and outside Pitzhanger Manor, spotting neo-classical architectural features, Grecian inspired statues, murals and more!

Natures Architects: Reintroducing Beaver’s to Ealing

Explore Pitzhanger Manor whilst learning more about Sir John Soane, the role of architects, the importance of natural wildlife and the purpose of it all!

You’ll be tasked with thinking as a Beaver architect would, burrowing deep to find the answers in the resource and ultimately designing your own Beaver home!

The Stolen Songbird Trail

Complete a variety of puzzles on your adventure with Caro Monday around Pitzhanger Manor. Step back into the 1950s with an extract from The Stolen Songbird, featuring His Nibs and the gang!

How to be an Architect’s Apprentice

Step into the world of architecture and become Sir John Soane’s apprentice for the day with this booklet all about classical designs and Soane’s uniquely modern style! Explore every nook and cranny of Pitzhanger, bask in the awe and grandeur of the house and find out more about the 1800s society and Soane’s life and family.

We can also provided a translated version into Japanese if required.

Aimed at school visits, our Teacher’s Learning Resource comes with a printable worksheet for students to complete as they venture around the Manor, engaging and thoughtful information for teachers to share with students, a plenary question bank and additional curriculum-focused activity suggestions to undertake back at school, differentiated between KS2 – KS5.
