Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery is delighted to announce the appointment of three new Trustees and a new Advisor to its Board and wider leadership community, effective from 10 March 2026.
Joining Pitzhanger are Samantha Washington, Sandra Bruce-Gordon and Sria Chatterjee as Trustees, alongside Sophie Parker as Advisor to our trading company board. Together, they bring a breadth of experience across broadcasting, cultural heritage, research, and communications, strengthening Pitzhanger’s governance and supporting the organisation’s continued growth and development.
These appointments come at an exciting moment for Pitzhanger, as the organisation prepares to open two major spring exhibitions: Marthe Armitage: Pattern Maker and Phoebe Collings-James: a rose, a bridge, a house, alongside its ongoing programme of learning and community outreach.

Pitzhanger is continuing to grow in renown and visibility with a series of critically acclaimed and well attended exhibitions and a thriving learning and outreach programme. Following the appointment of our new Director, Rebecca Lyons last year the Trust has sought to extend the skills and experience of our Board and to strengthen our governance. Today’s appointments do just that. I am so grateful to these new appointees, and to our current Board members and to the board of PTL who give so generously of their time and wisdom to this unique institution.”
Samantha Washington is a presenter at Sky News and a Trustee of the Imperial War Museum. A passionate supporter of cultural heritage institutions, she was recently awarded an MSc from Oxford University’s Internet Institute, where she specialised in the intersection of digital technology, artificial intelligence and museums.
Sandra Bruce-Gordon is a motivational leader and change manager. Sandra’s career has been within the arts and creative industries holding Chief Executive positions in the third, public and private sectors. She has a keen interest in creative health and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
Dr Sria Chatterjee is an environmental humanities scholar and an art historian. Currently Head of Research Initiatives at the Paul Mellon Centre in London, she has published widely and led projects on the intersecting histories of art, science, and environment. Sria is committed to the vital role of the arts and the impact it has on both our day-to-day lives and the pressing social questions of our time. She is excited by the work Pitzhanger does and looks forward to being a part of it.
Sophie Parker is a global brand communications leader with over 18 years of experience across the US, EMEA, and APAC regions. She has worked with a diverse range of organisations, from FTSE 250 companies to founders and start-ups.

If you would like to visit Phoebe Collings-James: a rose, a bridge, a house, please arrive before 6pm or book a ticket for the artist talk. Pitzhanger Manor and other open areas remain accessible during our usual Thursday Late opening hours.
