Overview

Explore colour, movement and imagination this February half-term in a family painting workshop led by artist Raman Uppal, inspired by the work of Howard Hodgkin.

Hosted at the Rickyard in Walpole Park, this lively, hands-on session invites families to experiment with paint through guided activities inspired by Hodgkin’s bold colours, organic forms and responses to nature. Raman will lead participants through playful exercises exploring shape, pattern and expressive mark-making.

This is a shared family workshop. All children must be accompanied by a paying adult at all times. Adults are expected to participate alongside children, creating and exploring together.

Suitable for all ages and abilities. All materials are provided.

Important information

  • Children must be accompanied by a paying adult at all times. This is a shared family workshop; adults are expected to participate alongside children.
  • Unaccompanied children will not be admitted.
  • Workshops are suitable for all ages, and no prior experience is needed.
  • All materials are provided and included in the workshop ticket price.
  • Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy, as activities may involve paint or ink.
  • Sessions run for the full duration stated; late arrivals may miss key instructions.
  • Workshop tickets are for the session only. Admission to Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery and the exhibition is not included and requires a separate ticket if you wish to visit.
