Children lead sensorial and creative activities in a relaxed, free-flow play space at the Rickyard for under 5s.
About this event
Inspired by a combination of Montessori philosophy, the architecture and exhibitions hosted by Pitzhanger Manor and gallery. Designed to give children and parents an opportunity to explore and have fun together!
Each session will be centred on a specific theme. It is an invite for the whole family to visit the Manor, the Gallery, and the surrounding grounds.
Your ticket will include a free visit to the manor and gallery before or after the session. There will be 2 sessions each months 1 in the morning and one in the afternoon.
In this session, we’ll be looking up at the sky. This session is inspired by the paintend blue sky on the ceiling (or “canopy”, like Soane liked to call it), of the Breakfast Room, and the stunning views from the Conservatory, even at this time of the year; there is something captivating, about the rain over the wintery scenes in Walpole Park. We’ll be exploring, clouds and rain, through children-lead, creative and sensorial activities. After the session, on your way to the Manor, observe the clouds. Can you spot any shapes? Do you think it is going to rain? Look at the drops of rain on the leaves or grass, do you see a reflection of yourself inside it?
Little Builders sessions can be messy and it is advisable to wear suitable clothing. Please bring a spare change of clothes. Although much care is taken to plan safe and suitable activities for your children to engage and explore independently, please remember that, Children must be supervised by their accompanying adults at all times and must be never left on their own.
Special Offer: If you visit Pitzhanger Pantry in Walpole Park after your session you can enjoy a half price regular hot drink and cake (subject to availability) and your under 5s can have a FREE babyccino.
