Children lead sensorial and creative activities in a relaxed, free-flow play space at the Rickyard for under 5s.
About this event
Inspired by a combination of Montessori philosophy, the architecture and exhibitions hosted by Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery. Designed to give children and parents an opportunity to explore and have fun together!
Your ticket will include a free visit to the manor and gallery before or after the session. You can drop in at the Rickyard any time between 10.30am and 2pm to enjoy the session.
Families are invited to visit Pitzhanger Manor and then come to the Little Builders session at the Rickyard, near the playground. This session has been inspired by the beautiful light and colour tricks Soane used to make his Manor feel like it was sunny even when it was raining! Bringing with him the colours of the sunsets he witnessed during his trips to southern Europe and taking inspirations from the architecture of buildings he visited during his grand tour around, his much-loved Italy. When you visit the Manor with your little ones, see how many tricks you can spot….have you seen the mirrors? The indoor window of orange and blue glass? The sunlight at the top of the stairs? Can you spot anything also?
Little Builders sessions can be messy and it is advisable to wear suitable clothing. Please bring a spare change of clothes. Although much care is taken to plan safe and suitable activities for your children to engage and explore independently, please remember that, Children must be supervised by their accompanying adults at all times and must be never left on their own.
Special Offer: If you visit Pitzhanger Pantry in Walpole Park after your session you can enjoy a half price regular hot drink and cake (subject to availability) and your under 5s can have a FREE babyccino.
