Mapping Pitzhanger: Family Workshop

Overview

Celebrate the London Festival of Architecture at Pitzhanger with a free family workshop exploring maps, model making and imaginative city building.

Led by Manvir Kaur Hansra, Creative Assistant at Birdi & Partners Ltd, families and visitors are invited to help create a large collaborative map of Pitzhanger and the surrounding area using drawing, recycled materials and simple craft activities.

During the workshop, participants can:

  • Draw and mark meaningful places on a giant map of Pitzhanger
  • Build miniature buildings, parks and community spaces
  • Create colourful architectural models using card and craft materials
  • Imagine new ideas for the local area
  • Contribute to a growing collaborative artwork shaped by everyone taking part

The workshop is free, drop-in and designed for families and children age 5+.

To coincide with the London Festival of Architecture, the Wonder Room will also host an, featuring self-guided architecture-themed activities throughout June.

  • Suitable for families and children age 5+.
  • Children must be accompanied at all times by a parent or guardian.
  • Unaccompanied children will not be admitted.
  • Materials will be provided.
  • Participants are welcome to join and leave throughout the session.
