MAIN GALLERY CLOSURE & JULY FILMING UPDATE

The main gallery is currently closed for exhibition changeover. Pitzhanger Manor and Marthe Armitage: Pattern Maker remain open, with discounted admission available.

On 8–19 July, further closures will be in place due to filming activity. During this period, the main gallery, café, shop, Monk’s Dining Room and Wonder Room will be closed. Discounted admission will remain available for access to the open areas of Pitzhanger Manor, including Marthe Armitage: Pattern Maker.

Visitors requiring step-free access to the Manor on 8–19 July will need to enter and exit via the Eating Room door from the Front Garden. The accessible toilet in the main gallery will not be available; the nearest accessible toilet is at the Rickyard in Walpole Park, near the playground.

Mini Makers: Circus Play

Important Location Update – Thursday 5 June

Please note that the Mini Makers: Circus Play sessions on 5 June will take place in Soane’s Garden Room, Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery, W5 5BE, instead of the Rickyard (W5 5BS).

All other session details remain unchanged.

Overview

Step into a world of imagination, movement and playful discovery with Circus Play.

Led by early years practitioner Désirée Boyneburg-Madile, this joyful session blends gentle gymnastics and simple yoga poses with creative circus-inspired activities. Little ones will stretch like acrobats, balance like tightrope walkers, wriggle and twirl with scarves and ribbons, and explore movement through music, storytelling and games.

Designed especially for babies and young children, Circus Play supports the development of coordination, balance, strength and body awareness in a safe and nurturing environment. Alongside energetic movement, moments of calm and relaxation help children practise listening skills and build confidence at their own pace.

What We Explore

  • Animal-inspired poses & moves
  • Simple balance & coordination games
  • Soft circus skills (scarves, ribbons, hoops, tunnels)
  • Music, rhythm, and creative movement
  • Relaxation & calm moments

All circus props and materials are provided. No prior experience is needed — just curiosity and a sense of adventure.

Join us in The Rickyard for a playful introduction to movement, imagination and the magic of the circus.
