Pitzhanger Perspectives: William Dalrymple

About this event

William Dalrymple is a distinguished writer and historian, whose work chiefly centres on the history and art of India. He will discuss his life and work, from tracing the footsteps of Marco Polo for his first bestseller aged just 21, his award-winning travel and history book career and his longstanding connection with India where he is a co-founder and director of the Jaipur Literature Festival.

Sir John Soane used Pitzhanger Manor to entertain his wide circle of friends, celebrities and potential clients, bringing together opera singers and politicians, academics and poets at eclectic dinners. Inspired by this spirit of Pitzhanger as a forum for interesting encounters and enlightening debate, Pitzhanger Perspectives is a new series of conversations with contemporary thinkers.
