Marking the first public event for Howard Hodgkin: In a Public Garden, poet Suzannah V. Evans and art historian Guy Robertson discuss Under the Blue, her debut collection of poetry, and its touchpoints with the art of Howard Hodgkin.
The front cover of Evans’s book features Hodgkin’s Water (2016) and her poems, which weave together themes of life, art, and intimacy, create a striking dialogue with Hodgkin’s work. As editor of the forthcoming catalogue raisonné of Hodgkin’s prints and works on paper for the Estate of Howard Hodgkin, Robertson brings his insight to discuss the connections with Hodgkin’s oeuvre.
