Overview
The Gardening Drawing Club returns to Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery. Join The Gardening Drawing Club for a warm evening of togetherness on the occasion of the free workshop ‘The Basics of Planting’.
Guided by artist and gardener Johanna Tagada Hoffbeck, this workshop will help nurture your gardening skills and confidence, giving you the basic know-how to start your own horticultural experiments at home.
Inspired by the lush and colourful green space of Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery, participants will be invited to take time to engage with the shapes, colours, and energies we find in plants, painting and drawing impressions of these encounters. Johanna will then start things off by walking us through the basics of growing organic vegetables and herbs, speaking to seed selection, soil, season, biodiversity, and gardening on a budget.
This workshop includes an organic herbal tea break.
No gardening experience is necessary – this event is suitable for beginners and the most experienced gardeners alike. All organic seeds, veganic soil, biodegradable pots, and art supplies, including plant-based watercolours, will be provided. This edition of ‘The Basics of Planting’ is for adults only.
Please note:
- This is an adult workshop only.
- All materials will be provided, including plant-based watercolour, organic seeds and veganic soil.
- If you are no longer able to attend this event, please do cancel your ticket to make space for others willing to join.
