If you were a room, what would it look like?

#WelcomeCreate art tasks are back and this month's challenge is all about interiors!

Often, a lot of thought is given when decorating a bedroom or a child’s room, considering the colours or themes that would make it feel like it represents us in some way. In this task we invite you to create a room that would be a visual representation of you. How would the room look?

Download the instructions for this creative activity for free on our website. Link in bio.

We can't wait to see your responses - use our hashtag #WelcomeCreate tag us @Pitzhanger.

''Everything starts from a dot'' 🔵 - Wassily Kandinsky

February's #WelcomeCreate art task focuses on circles.
Inspired by the many concentric circles found within the interiors of Pitzhanger Manor, this activity plays with colour, pattern and repetition to design an attractive piece.

Circles are often used to signify unity, wholeness, birth and rebirth. The oldest found are carvings, named petroglyphs, etched into rock, from around 40,000 years ago.

Download this activity online for free. Link in our bio.

For inspiration, check out artists that feature concentric circles such as Sonia Delauney, Alma Thomas and Wassily Kandinsky

Is January over yet? Not quite - there's still time to join in with January's #WelcomeCreate art challenge!

The theme for this moth is vision board. We’re using mixed media, playing with layouts and tapping into self expression. Just like you might use sticky notes for daily reminders, this vision board can be displayed on your fridge or a private space in your home such as inside the wardrobe door.

This task is suitable for all levels. Download the activity sheet from our website. Link in bio.

Share your work on social media #WelcomeCreate #LearnWithPitzhanger @Pitzhanger or email pitzhanger@pitzhanger.org.uk to add it to our Welcome Create Gallery.

Soane's 'ancient colonnade' with its simple columns and exposed wooden roof structure recalls the 'primitive hut' from which the Greek orders of architecture were thought to have evolved. ⠀
⠀
This beautiful shady colonnade was demolished in Victorian times and restored in 2018. It provides a walkway between the Manor and the Gallery today.⠀
