Pitzhanger Late: The Gardening Drawing Club

The Basics of Planting

Join us for a restorative evening in the gardens of Pitzhanger. This workshop will nurture your skills and confidence in gardening. Together we will go through how, where and when to plant a selection of organic vegetable and herb seeds. We will discuss seed selection, soil, season, biodiversity and gardening on a budget. We will also draw and paint inspired by the seeds and the plants’ shapes, colours, energies and textures.

All organic seeds, veganic soil, pots and art supplies, including plant-based painting material will be provided. All participants can take their plants and artwork home.

Artist Johanna Tagada Hoffbeck will facilitate this workshop. This event is suitable for beginners and the most experienced gardeners alike. Booking allows access to Pitzhanger Manor and Anthony Caro: The Inspiration of Architecture from 5pm.

About The Gardening Drawing Club

Founded in 2021, The Gardening Drawing Club is a series of unique events with a holistic approach offering free access to arts and horticulture in Britain. Veganic gardening methods are employed through The Gardening Drawing Club, advocating for gentleness and compassion while supporting seed sovereignty, racial, climate and land justice and reparation, biodiversity, and animal liberation. The Gardening Drawing Club has a shared mission to integrate the joys of gardening and drawing in others’ lives for individual and community well-being.
