MAIN GALLERY CLOSURE & JULY FILMING UPDATE

The main gallery is currently closed for exhibition changeover. Pitzhanger Manor and Marthe Armitage: Pattern Maker remain open, with discounted admission available.

On 8–19 July, further closures will be in place due to filming activity. During this period, the main gallery, café, shop, Monk’s Dining Room and Wonder Room will be closed. Discounted admission will remain available for access to the open areas of Pitzhanger Manor, including Marthe Armitage: Pattern Maker.

Visitors requiring step-free access to the Manor on 8–19 July will need to enter and exit via the Eating Room door from the Front Garden. The accessible toilet in the main gallery will not be available; the nearest accessible toilet is at the Rickyard in Walpole Park, near the playground.

Overview

Join us for an evening conversation where Clare Woods RA sits down with Pitzhanger’s Director Rebecca Lyons, to discuss her new exhibition: Garden Without Seasons. Together, they will explore Woods’s approach to painting and its translation into print and collage, examining themes of nature, absence, and the passage of time.

The conversation will also consider the connections to Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery in Woods’s work, including the visual links to Sir John Soane’s stained-glass windows and historic architecture and gardens. Woods will reflect on how these elements informed the exhibition, alongside a discussion of wider art historical influences from Édouard Manet’s deathbed flower paintings to the exuberance of seventeenth-century Dutch floral still lifes.

This event is part of the public programme for Clare Woods: Garden Without Seasons
