How We Support Our Volunteers

To thank our volunteers for their time and dedication to Pitzhanger, there are many benefits of volunteering with us. Here are just a few of them:

  • Team visits to other museums, galleries and houses
  • Private Curator and Director led talks and tours.
  • Learn about the history, architecture and restoration of Pitzhanger Manor, as well as a series of contemporary exhibitions.
  • Make new friends who share your passion and enthusiasm, with organised Volunteer Socials!
  • Learn new skills.
  • Become part of a supportive team.
  • We provide training so you’ll be well-prepared to carry out the role, and in turn you will get excellent experience in a museum, plus the opportunity to work in an extraordinary historic house and contemporary art gallery.

How to Join

We are currently recruiting enthusiastic, friendly volunteers to engage our visitors. If you are interested in joining our volunteer team, please add your name and email address below to receive updates about volunteering sessions.

You don’t need to have volunteered before; we will provide relevant training, supervision and support.

Email us today with any questions. We look forward to hearing from you!

We can only offer the Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery volunteering opportunities to over 18 years old.

Volunteering in Pitzhanger allows you to imprint yourself to history. If you have any architectural curiosity, you would be in awe to physically see how natural light enters the hallway mimicking a beautiful Mediterranean sun, as Soane intended.

Volunteer testimony

I’ve been a volunteer at Pitzhanger since it was reopened in 2019 and have enjoyed every minute connecting with my community.  I’ve made new friends and learned a lot about local history, as well as the history of the Manor which I’ve been able to share with visitors… I am proud to be part of the team”.
