‘Utterly phenomenal’ – Elizabeth Day
Join award-winning novelist Natasha Brown to hear about her bold, provocative new novel Universality, hailed widely as one of the most significant books of 2025.
A compellingly nasty celebration of the spectacular force of language, the novel begins with a man being bludgeoned to death with a gold bar and follows a brave young journalist as she sets out to uncover the truth connecting the dots between an amoral banker landlord, an iconoclastic columnist and a radical anarchist movement. Her exposé raises more questions than it answers.
Natasha Brown’s debut novel Assembly was Foyles Fiction Book of the Year, shortlisted for several awards, and has been translated into 17 languages. She was a 2023 Granta ‘Best of Young British Novelist’ and a 2021 ‘Observer Best Debut Novelist’.
The aim of Ealing Book Festival is to celebrate the joy of reading and to advance engagement and education around literature and reading. Through our events we hope to bring people and communities together; grow audiences for literature; inspire writers and readers of all ages; showcase well-known authors and promote local writers.
