Enjoy the festive season at Pitzhanger with markets, music and making.
As the festive season approaches, Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery becomes a place to gather, create and celebrate.
On Sunday 23 November, Duck Pond Market fills our front garden with local, ethical and sustainable makers — the perfect setting to find thoughtful gifts and meet the people behind them.
On Thursday 27 November, Ealing musicians Lumarie and Luke Matthews bring soulful Christmas harmonies to the gallery, while London Creative Gals host a joyful Christmas Jewellery-Making Workshop, celebrating creativity and friendship. Craft your own Christmas Wreath, design a glowing centrepiece at our Festive Candle Painting Workshop, or create a showstopping bake at our new Christmas Cake Decorating Workshop — taking place on 26 November and 3 December.
And before the season begins in full, don’t miss the final tickets for Opera Prelude’s Storace and Soane on 6 November, a musical journey through Soane’s world.
Our Team
Every day at Pitzhanger brings something new.

Hello, I’m Rowan, Visitor Experience Supervisor at Pitzhanger. I originally joined as a Visitor Experience Assistant, drawn to this remarkable space where historic and contemporary art meet — a blend that resonates with my academic background in the Romantic period.
My role is incredibly varied, from welcoming visitors to supporting events and exhibitions. An unforgettable highlight was during the filming of BBC Antique Roadshow, when I was entrusted with handling a cannonball discovered in Pitzhanger’s chimney during restoration — later featured in the opening of the first episode. Each day brings something new and exciting, and that’s what makes working at Pitzhanger so special.
Shop
Gifts inspired by art, nature and local craft.
Step into the Pitzhanger Shop for gifts that celebrate creativity and place. Taste the season with Pitzhanger honey, collected from hives in Walpole Park and presented in elegant jars and gift sets — including a warming cinnamon blend.
Discover our new organic-cotton Pitzhanger tote bag, the perfect companion for winter days.
Add colour to your home with official Howard Hodgkin cushions from the artist’s Estate, and ceramic mugs by Izzy McFarlane, handmade in Sussex and designed to bring an artist’s touch to everyday life.
You’ll also find fine art postcards, decorations, books and candles, each chosen with care — gifts that carry the spirit of beauty, craft, and imagination.
All items are available in the gallery foyer only — every purchase supports local makers and Pitzhanger’s year-round programmes.

Exhibition
Radiant art to brighten the winter at Pitzhanger.

This winter, step into a world alive with colour at Pitzhanger. Howard Hodgkin: In a Public Garden (to 8 March 2026) spans five decades of the artist’s luminous prints and paintings, transforming Soane’s historic interiors into a celebration of memory, light, and emotion. Praised by House & Garden as “gloriously comprehensive,” the exhibition has quickly become one of London’s must-see shows.
On 4 December, join our new Panel Discussion with Shanay Jhaveri and Hannah Perry, exploring Hodgkin’s continuing influence on contemporary art. Earlier in the season, Richard Parry, Pitzhanger’s Head of Programmes, leads a Guided Tour of the exhibition on 6 November. Members can enjoy exclusive tours on 6 November and 4 December — a perfect way to share the experience with friends.
Enhance your visit with our free Bloomberg Connects digital guide, featuring audio commentary and the complete list of works.

Families and Learning
Creative discovery for families, schools and young minds.

In the Wonder Room at Pitzhanger Manor, children colour bold palm trees, collage and draw expressive frames and display their creations — each piece a unique response to Howard Hodgkin’s art. The space evolves constantly thanks to our new Student Interpretation & Engagement Assistants, an Art Fund-supported programme bringing eight university students into the gallery to help make Pitzhanger even more welcoming, imaginative and inclusive.
Younger children can enjoy Mini Makers, our art sessions for under-fives every other Friday.
Schools are invited to book workshops and tours exploring art, design, and architecture. If you have school-age children, encourage their teachers to plan a visit to Pitzhanger.
