Phoebe Collings-James: a rose, a bridge, a house
1 April – 14 June 2026

This Spring, the artist Phoebe Collings-James (b.1987) will bring new sculpture and ceramic work to Pitzhanger, the first time these works will be shown in the UK.

Phoebe Collings-James: a rose, a bridge, a house will feature sculpture and clay paintings in the main galleries and through into rooms in Sir John Soane’s former home. The Jamaican British artist’s work includes shifts in tone and finish, featuring a rich array of markings and textures, exploring language, material and resistance through clay. These works offer visitors the opportunity to encounter one of the most exciting young artists working with ceramics today.

Exhibition

A Final Look at Howard Hodgkin

Acclaimed by critics. Closing on 8 March.

As Howard Hodgkin: In a Public Garden enters its final weeks, this is the last opportunity to spend time with an exhibition that has drawn critical acclaim. Since opening at Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery, it has been praised by The TimesThe GuardianThe World of Interiors, and other leading publications for its emotional depth and sensitivity.

Returning visitors may notice new shifts in colour, memory and feeling — works that continue to reward slow looking. For first-time visitors, this is the final moment to see the exhibition before it closes.

Meet the Team: Private Hire

We are the Private Hire team at Pitzhanger — Jess, Anna, and Jessie — and we look after weddings, celebrations of life, filming, and bespoke events that support the conservation of the historic manor as well as our wider learning and community work.

From guiding couples through their first venue visit to welcoming film crews on set, no two days are the same. It’s a privilege to be part of so many memorable occasions, whether it’s a celebration of life or the start of a marriage. We are thrilled to see what the rest of the year holds as we continue to learn and grow from each event, and we’re proud of everything we’ve achieved so far.

We’re especially excited to see recent filming projects come to life on screen, including Pitzhanger’s starring role as “Genius HQ” on Channel 4!

Pitzhanger on Channel 4

Spot Pitzhanger as TV’s new Genius HQ.

Pitzhanger takes centre stage this month in the Channel 4 prime-time series Secret Genius, hosted by Alan Carr and Susie Dent. Filmed here last year, the manor and gardens appear throughout as the show’s “Genius HQ”.

New episodes air Sundays at 9pm on Channel 4 until 1 March — see if you can recognise some familiar spaces.
