Explore the creativity of our community’s young poets.
The first Ealing Book Festival was a resounding success, with over 1,300 participants attending 20 enriching events at Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery. Embracing our mission to inspire and foster a hub of creativity, dialogue, and imagination, we were privileged to host West London’s book lovers, providing a perfect setting for new connections and shared passions in literature and storytelling.
The festival concluded with the Young People’s Poetry Competition awards ceremony on Sunday, 14 April. This year’s theme, ‘Where Do I Live?’, inspired an array of insightful and imaginative entries across three age categories. The Manor of Ealing Councillor Hitesh Tailor, poet James Pendle, Savills’ Stuart Balfre and our director Clare Gough presented certificates to the young poets, with special recognition given to Marcus from Christ the Saviour Primary School, who was named the Poetry Champion for his role in encouraging a love of poetry among his peers.
Click on the albums below to explore the creativity of these young poets through the 24 winning and shortlisted poems.
